Three Passes Challenge for Autism

This is a collection of videos that were taken as part of the Three Passes Challenge for Autism 2022 charity expedition in the Himalayas Mountains in Nepal. We arrived on 23rd September 2022 (the original date of 17th April 2020 was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic) in Kathmandu, Nepal to hike and climb the Himalayas Mountains. It was a very busy season in that part of the Himalayas Mountains, as many climbers were heading to Mount Everest Base Camp to prepare to climb Mount Everest. We were using this opportunity to share our knowledge and experience of Asperger’s Syndrome with all people that we meet on our way. We hoped that by sharing updates from our expedition on social media, we will also help raise awareness about Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The entire journey took 30 days. We did a few days of preparation in Kathmandu and next started and finished our trekking in Lukla, an entry town to this part of the mountains. During that time, we walked over 115 miles, and for each mile, each of us donated £1 to the National Autistic Society. It was a self-funded expedition, and all money raised as part of this event was donated to the National Autistic Society.

As part of 4 weeks of independent hiking (no guides, no porters), we were going through 3 high altitude passes Kongma La (5508m), Cho La (5420m) and Renjo La (5345m). We also hiked peaks: Nangkartshang (5083m), Kala Patthar (5643m) Gokyo Ri (5357m) and visit Mount Everest Base Camp. Below you can find a map of the area we hiked.
